winter migration

On December 5, 2009 by alinaki

all my little friends have gone… no butterflies, no spiders, not even flies…they fled for warmer places, for sunny days, and bloomed flowers. left behind the gray skies, the cold and silence… instead, i hear even closer the sound of the thousand crows flying over us every morning and back every evening. with no birds around to distract us, this is the sound of winter in the city… a crow’s Christmas…

perhaps Christmas is meant to keep our mind out of the feeling of loneliness that winter brings… it brings you the joy of giving and receiving…making you think more of family, giving you the thrill of searching for presents they would like… for some days, it keeps the sound of the thousand crows silent, prevents you from noticing the emptiness around.

me, Christmas or not, i hate winter. it’s like all nature stood still in the cold fog, waiting for the spring. all that gave savour to spring, summer and winter have either left, or perished…

it’s just us to walk the earth and crows to rule the skies…

all my little friends have gone…the city is empty. winter moved in and claimed territory… i sip my coffee, smoke my cigarette, write down stupid thoughts and wait for warmer days.
